Radiography Practice Education Facilitators

Tom Graham

I trained as a Radiographer through the University of Liverpool and graduated in 2014, my first post was as a Band 5 Radiographer with BCUHB, based at Ysbyty Gwynedd. I quickly developed an interest in cross-sectional imaging which led me to pursue a career in CT. I attended the University of Bradford in September 2019 and completed my Postgraduate certificate in Computed Tomography in the summer of 2020, an experience I found rewarding and hugely beneficial for passing on new skills and knowledge to our students and my colleagues. I joined Bangor University on the 1st of March this year, and I’m excited to see where the role takes me and to work more closely with students, and provide them with a good experience.

Miv Davies

Hi, my name is Miv Davies and I’m the new Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) for BCUHB east, Ysbyty Wrexham Maelor.

I completed my Diagnostic Radiography training in Bangor University and went on to gain a postgraduate certificate in Advanced Medical Imaging , so my radiography practice time is spent between general imaging and mammography. I’m looking forward to working within the PEF team.

Katy Roberts

I graduated from the University of Leeds with a 1st class degree with honours in Diagnostic Radiography in 2008. Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of departments and specialities in 3 different hospitals including Trauma/Orthopaedics, Neuro, Gastro, Cardiac and Paediatrics. I spent over 6 years working in one of the largest teaching hospitals in the UK and specialised in Computed Tomography there. This gave me a fantastic platform to begin my role at Ysbyty Gwynedd where I have worked for over 6 years now, specialising in CT and Magnetic Resonance imaging.

The Practice Education Facilitator role or the University of Bangor will be a welcome and exciting new challenge for me. I hope that we as a team can facilitate student Radiographers to have an improved interprofessional learning experience with other healthcare professionals which in turn will build a stronger link between us all as ongoing professional colleagues.

Excellent patient care is at the heart of why I wanted to be a Radiographer and I hope to inspire and shape the learning of future Radiographers so that we can continue to offer the best possible patient care even in the most challenging of circumstances.
